Hawaii is one of my most favorite places; my second home. Our family history goes back to the Big Island 3 or 4 generations ago, my mother was there as a child and our family's best friends lived their for 50+ years ... you can kind of say I'm connected to it. Below are just a fraction of my visits over the years.
OHAU - WAIKIKI & PEARL HARBOR
The pics below are from a particular trip to the Big Island where we stayed real local. The place was located on the southern end of Cooks Bay, across a lava flow that reached the ocean. We literally had to drive across the lava flow to get to the tiny neighborhood of about 10 local Hawaiian families. Some of the best snorkeling ever. But there was a resident cane spider who liked to come thru the window and drink from the toilet ... wasn't too fond of that.
